 Montana Wines was founded in 1934, and has grown to become the largest wine company in New Zealand. The highly regarded wines of Montana are sold in the United States under the brand name Brancott Vineyards, a tribute to Montana's historic Brancott Estate property found in the heart of the famed Marlborough winegrowing region. The Brancott Estate property was the site of the first significant planting of Sauvignon Blanc in New Zealand, with 30 acres planted in 1973. Today, at 570 acres, Brancott Estate vineyard is New Zealand's largest vineyard.
