Argentiera Villa Donoratico 2003
Intense ruby red colour with purple hues. A pervasive, well-rounded nose with fruity rather than floral aromas blending well with hints of oak. A generous, harmonious flavour with the subtle, sweet tannins typical of this area. A nicely rounded, dry palate with a long lingering finish. Wine Spectator A fine red, with clean berry and coffee cream character. Medium-bodied, with medium tannins and a chewy berry and cappuccino finish. A new wine from the Antinori and Fratini family, with Bordeaux's Stéfane Derenoncourt. Best after 2008. 8,500 cases made. Score: 89. October 31, 2005. |
