Beringer Johannisberg Riesling 2005
Similar to its growing conditions, Riesling enjoys cooler temperatures throughout winemaking to retain its delicate floral and white peach aromas and flavors. Immediately following crush, Beringer’s winemakers chill the must (juice and skins) and continue with a long, slow fermentation to extract the subtle nuances of flavors from the elusive Riesling grape. Just before the wine reaches dryness, temperatures are further lowered, enhancing the length and finish and rounding out the wine. The result is a bright, crisp wine popping with fresh peach and jasmine flavors and highlighted with hints of orange blossom and baking spice. |
