There are a lot of $10 wines on the market these days but few offer as much flavor and character as this wine. You see, this is not some animal labeled wine with a bigger marketing budget than wine making budget. It’s a small producer in the obscure region of Saint Chinian, on the Mediterranean in south central France. It’s likely a blend of carignan, syrah, grenache, mourvedre and cinsault and shows dark, slightly rustic fruit flavors, moderate tannins and a nice bit of minerality. For $10 this wine rocks.
