Marquis Philips Shiraz 2006
The wine has a rich, dense blackberry jam aroma with spicy vanillin, cedar and fruitcake notes. Beautifully textured, it explodes in the mouth with sweet berry, rich mocha, vanilla spice, hints of pepper and a big, soft, tannic finish. Wine Advocate The 2006 Shiraz was barrel-fermented and aged in predominantly American oak for 12 months. It offers up fragrant aromas of cedar, smoke, tar, blueberry, and blackberry liqueur. Full-bodied, opulent, and structured, this intense, well-balanced Shiraz will evolve for 2-3 years and drink well through 2016. It is an excellent value. Score: 92. —Jay Miller, October 2007. |
